Gluten Free Dairy Free - Christmas Tree Cheesy Bread

I am so excited to share this delicious Christmas Tree Cheesy Bread with you! This is perfect for any holiday party and is super yummy! I am so happy that the pizza dough works as well as it does for this recipe:) Hope you all enjoy this recipe as much as I do!!

Ingredients:

2 packages (14 oz) gluten free pizza dough, I use the Wholly gluten free brand.

1/2 package (about 4 oz) dairy free mozzarella, I use the Miyoko's creamery brand. It melts great! Daiya also has a dairy free mozzarella block that would also work well.

1 egg, beaten. You can most likely use an egg substitute. The egg is there to help brown the dough.

4 tbsp gluten free flour, I use almond flour however I often use Bob's Red Mill flour.

Italian seasoning

Dipping sauce

1 cup marinara sauce

2 tbsp dairy free butter, melted and mixed with 1/2 tbsp minced garlic

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F.

  2. Place a 2 tbsp of gluten free flour on a cutting board.

  3. Place thawed pizza dough on a cutting board and roll out.

  4. Once the pizza dough is flat, cut into 15 equal squares.

  5. Cut the mozzarella block into small equal pieces.

  6. Place mozzarella on the pizza dough square and roll into a ball.

  7. Place the cheese ball seam side down onto a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

  8. Repeat steps 2 - 7 until all 30 pieces are formed into the tree on the cookie sheet.

  9. Take a brush and brush the egg over the top of the cheesy bread. This will help the browning process of the dough. If you are vegan, I am assuming an egg substitute would work as well.

  10. Sprinkle italian seasoning on dough.

  11. Place the Christmas tree cheesy bread in the oven for about 16 - 18 minutes until the top is browned.

  12. Let cool and serve with marinara sauce or the garlic sauce above.

Enjoy!!
